Alistar will definitely try to all-in you at level two once his W>Q combo. There are two ways to avoid this, either poke him enough at level one so that he can't all-in you, or concede the push and keep the wave near your tower at all times.
Once he gets his Ultimate R, you can't allow him to build up a huge wave and crash it into your tower as the wave, paired with his Ultimate R will allow him to set-up brutal tower dives with his Jungler.
In team-fights, Alistar will look to flank you from the sides and his goal will be to lockdown the highest priority target in your team (mostly your ADC). Try not to fight in the jungle as it will allow him to land a multi-person Q. You can thwart his team-fight all-in by poking the remaining four members of his team and forcing them to play defensively.”

Also keep in mind that he can tank a turret no problem, if he does, maybe their jungle is coming too and it is a dive. Additionally, he can do a Q-flash trick, if you do not expect it you might get caught. It is also the most dangerous trap to fall for. If he has hexflash he will try this from bushes and at other sides of the walls often. Watch out for these cheap tricks and you are good on lane. As for the rest of the game he has a bonus against you, that he is a tanky with cc's. You have to be more useful to your team than he is as a tank.”

Guoblide says “Alistar is a fairly easy matchup for Braum due to Alistar's aggression being fairly linear and easy to shut down. However, Alistar can make some unexpected outplays that less skilled Braum players won't know how to play around. Alistar is a tanky Vanguard support than can be played either as an engage tank or a Warden depending on the champions on either team. Against Braum however Alistar will usually be played as an engager focused on catching out Braum or his ADC. Alistar spikes a bit at Level 2 with him gaining access to his Headbutt + Pulverize combo. This combo isn't especially strong into Braum though if Braum stands near his ADC as a well placed Unbreakable can block most of the follow up damage from the enemy ADC. Alistar spikes again at Level 3 as the acces to Trample provides him more lockdown CC. His final spike is at Level 6 with Unbreakable Will although this spike isn't as scary as Braum lanes are usually looking to outscale over get kills on the enemy support. When Braum gets to lane he should be able to get some poke off with Winter's Bite and maybe deny the enemy ADC CS. Alistar is not a threat at Level 1 due to Pulverize not providing a lot of CC and requiring Alistar to get near an enemy to land. Back off at Level 2 and try to stick near you ADC to peel for them due to Alistar being able to engage from a long distance with his Headbutt + Pulverize combo. This combo gets even scarier at Level 3 with Trample being able to extend the CC chain on your ADC. Play safe up until Level 6 where Glacial Fissure gives Braum better peel and pick potential if the enemy ADC mispostions. Braum outscales Alistar and provides way better peel and engage to an extent in late game team fights so getting through Levels 1-5 without misplaying should make the game way easier after the laning phase is over.”

When he headbutts your ADC, drop a silence field under your carry to prevent him from pressing Q or E, making it a lot harder for him to apply any follow up cc, insttead knocking your AD away to safety. Cow suffers from very nasty and long cooldowns. Once he blows his load, you want to chase and kill. Still with potential damage you two may eat from his engage you'll need sustain to turn the tables, not just damage. That's why your adc should build lifesteal and you should equip conqueror rune.”

Alistar will flash trample you and knock you into the enemy ADC, youe life will flash before your eyes over and over again. He's difficult to poke out due to his passive, and natural tankiness. His engage combo is point and click, and avoidable only by flash or zhonyas. His ultimate cleanses your ultimate, and he can dive extremely well. Your only chance in this lane is to abuse him level one with chords and autos, and getting level two before them to create health advantages. ”

That being said, his cooldowns are brutal, mobility pitiful and autos weak. If they don't get a kill on your adc pronto, they're in deep shit.
I recommend going ham on adc, unless you need to peel ali off to save yours from gettin trampled. Jungler ganks are also nice, as ali sucks at running away, and once he blows his load on engage, he's just a big hp punchbag that can't do jack.”

you shouldn't really cast your spells on the Ali after he finishes the combo as he has the extra resist from aftershock. So ideally kill the carry instead.
