Influentik says “After the nerfs, locke is not an issue, catching him can be though. He relies primarily on slows, so go stormraiders surge vs him, and then by 2 items he can't touch you anymore.
Just be aware of his trading pattern early, and once you hit level 5, you've outscaled him already.
(Ignite is great here with stormraiders if you want actual kill threat)”
Event Horizon says “Although the laning phase is difficult, Asol massively outscales after 20-25 minutes. Similar to the LeBlanc matchup. Setup to survive lane and don't give Locke a lead.”
Soft Headpats says “> Important to dodge his [[Ritual Nails]] (Q), otherwise he'll have an easy time reaching you and doing massive burst damage by popping the marks. The more nails he hits, the more you're slowed.
> Deceptively beefy thanks to his [[Soul Ignition]] (W) letting him recover health during fights. He also gets a lot of MS during his W, which helps him chase and/or dodge spells. Keep track of whether it's up or not, and avoid committing all your cooldowns while it's active if possible.
> The initial cast of his [[Ashen Pursuit]] (E) is a blink with a fast animation, providing flexible mobility. However, the second part is a targeted dash which can be cancelled with a well-timed [color=#8E44AD]EQ[/color], although it is quite fast. Keep in mind that his E places him behind his target as well.
> Like with any other assassin, be mindful of your positioning and avoid being in range of his Qs before he's used his E. If he is able to threaten you while holding onto his E, you are likely mispositioning. His E also resets on takedown so be careful around low health teammates.
> Once you have enough haste and waveclear, he becomes less of an issue thanks to his straightforward gameplan and need to be in melee range to do any real damage. You should be able to zone him with your range in the sidelane and lock him down in teamfights. His W makes him basically unkillable though so be careful of him engaging for trades.
> The main thing to look out for with [[Purgatory]] (R) is if he successfully gets an execute with it. If you are able to, it can be worth zoning him from picking up the totem, or at least punishing him as much as possible for it. Picking up the totem after an execute lets him scale his execute threshold, as well as partially refunding the cooldown of his ult. It is often unrealistic to completely stop him from picking it up, so use your best judgement.

RaptorHunter says “Pressure his early farming before his full assassin pattern becomes available.
Respect his mobility cooldowns and avoid using Q before he commits.
Keep the wave closer to your tower so he cannot extend an all-in.
Do not follow him blindly through fog because his pick potential is stronger there.
Push with Statikk, ping his movement and control the routes he wants to use.”
Zamus says “Disgusting abomination of a 200 years champ that was recently released.
Rant aside, my suggestion in this lane would be not to waste empowered q while his w is active, unless you want hp back.
Try dodging his nails, he can legit one shot you.
I usually dont buy banshee, but when I'm against this thing, I consider buying it later in the game for the extra mr.
I would advise you to hold your pool in order to dodge his r in teamfights.”
Young Ryze says “Take bone plating, dont get hit by his spikes and peel using minions. Easy matchup if you play it carefully and this matchup lets you perma roam since you can just clear waves and roam”
Hexeria says “He is only really strong in the early game, so be careful for his 3 Q's and survive the lane till you are level 6 and got your first real item. Afterwards you can just run him down.”
Quinfrey says “[[locke]] isn't a big threat but his damage shouldn't be underestimated.
He probably starts with [[Electrocute]] and [[Ritual Nails]], the only way he wins the trade is by hitting all three which procs electrocute.
The only other thing you need to know about his [[Ritual nails]] is that it leaves a mark which slows but also does a lot of extra damage if he AA after. Just back off when you have 3 stacks.
[[Ashen Pursuit]] is just like [[Ekko]]'s dash, just wait for him to attack after the dash and then instantly [[Vault]]. You should only be scared of this ability when he has 3 [[Ritual Nails]] stacks because 1 AA is guaranteed and that's massive damage.
[[Soul Ignition]] is just a bit of movement speed and attack speed, but it's not enough to count as a gap closer, so save [[Vault]] for [[Ashen Pursuit]]
[[Purgatory]] is just an execute that can be great in teamfights but not solo against us. Try to dodge it or just play a bit more passive when you get hit.
So if you need to remember 2 things, then remember this:
- dodge at least 1 [[Ritual nails]] and back off if you have 3 stacks
- save [[Vault]] for the second part of [[Ashen Pursuit]].”
SurferKiller says “He is your permaban. Locke is everything Nasus hates: Missing health damage; Execution on low HP; AP Assassin; Bonus damage on poke; High mobility; Burst prevention; Outranges; Roam based matchup. Ban this champion at all times until he gets nerfed. I will update this text if he does.”
PotkanIRL says “It's like playing a katarina that solved all of her issues that vladimir abused. He has huge burst early, gap closer that does loads of damage and execute ult. Don't waste ur empowered Q on his active W, pool his ult and focus on farming and scaling because if he doesn't snow ball he becomes useless late game.”
Misuleague says “Take Exhaust. You counter this guy, block his Q with windwall and post level 6 save your windwall for his R. Take exhaust as he is an assassin.”

ludenbergangel says “Generic assassin, whoever is more fed will win, and he can easily escape your ganks with E so unless he wastes it you can't do much. Not much you can do against him in general except keep in mind he can easily dodge your E and R with his E so hold them until they're used if possible. You can also try to Q and burst him before he reactivates W if he's holding onto it for long”
